Zayra – #1 Breakout Billboard Dance Club Play Chart

New Single “Baby Likes to Bang” poised to follow her Top 5 debut “V.I.P.,” to the top of the dance charts!

Zayra lit up the dance floors this summer with her surprise hit, “V.I.P.,” and now she is back for the holidays with her new club banger, “Baby Likes To Bang,” from her album of the same name. In its first week of release, “Baby Likes To Bang,” captured the #1 Breakout position on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Chart (12/18/2010) and is poised to follow “V.I.P.” to the top of the charts.

Zayra’s first dance club smash, “V.I.P.,” rose to #5 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club chart (9/18/2010) and featured heavy-hitting remixes by Dave Audé, Mike Rizzo and DJ Paulo & Alain Jackinsky. Another cache of superstar DJ-Producers including DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio, Razor N Guido, Mixin Marc & Tony Svejda, and Steph Seroussi & Nam, were brought on board to deliver the lethal beats for “Baby Likes to Bang.”

Also, in its first week of release, “Baby Likes to Bang,” captured the #1 sales chart position on Masterbeat.com, the digital download site that has been described as the dance remix of iTunes, combining the hottest club tracks and dance remixes from both independent and major labels. The single is currently #3 for the month on the specialty site.

Since September, Zayra has been performing coast to coast at dance clubs and special events, including the featured performance of Atlanta’s Pride Week. She won’t be letting up anytime soon and her upcoming appearance highlights include:

Dec 17 – Hard Rock Café, Las Vegas, Vicious Presented by Crush
Dec 18 -  Eleven, Santa Monica, CA, TigerHeat Presents Monster
Feb 4-5, 2011 - WinterPRIDE Whistler, a celebration of sport, culture, wellness and entertainment for the LBGT community.

The Quentin Tarantino-inspired video for “Baby Likes to Bang” has just been released and it’s raising eyebrows. Journalists and bloggers have called it “a little frank and shocking,” “not your typical dance music video,” “I smell success on this one…watch the first 30 seconds and you’ll see what I mean.” Watch/Share Zayra get her “Kill Bill” on here:

“An aspiring rock goddess…who prances around in cosmic blue cat suits like she’s Ziggy Stardust’s long lost Caribbean cousin.” – the Los Angeles Times
“Every summer needs a dance queen and Zayra is turning out to be this season’s club royalty.” – Arjan Writes
“The most outrageous musical talent since Lady Gaga” – PM Entertainment

Liam Keegan Exclusive interview and Mixset

His name recently appeared in the shadow of high-quality remixes of Katy Perry, Will I Am, Rihanna or Pink to name just a few,

let’s meet british phenomenon, Dj & Producer Liam Keegan, with one mission in mind : Trying to know more about his talents.

______________

Your musical history: When did you start mixing, remixing and producing ?

LK: I had a love for music from a very early age it started out with me humming melody’s making my own words up for song etc… as early as 5-6. Then when i was 11-12 i started listening to acid house and piano driven house. My first experience of ‘Decks’ was when i was 15 in a friends party and you literally couldnt get me off them for hours and from then on things built from there. By 17 I had my own setup and my record collection was growing by the day and by 19, I landed my first professional residency.

After that I never looked back and over the past decade have DJ’d all over the UK in many bars clubs.

In 2004 i thought the natural progression of DJing was production so i started to mess around on sequencers ‘Acid pro/Reason’ from then moved onto Cubase in 2005 thats when things started to get more serious. I started writing tracks around 2004-05 and started remixing in 2006-07.

I’m also completely self taught (A friend ‘DJ Tugie’ helped me with the basics in cubase but i learnt the rest over the years).

Many pop stars such as Katy Perry, Rihanna, Pink, trust you when it comes to turn their tune into a club smash, what does it take to make a successful sound ?

Its all about keeping the track as close to the original but with more energy, nice uplifting synths and a solid Beat/Percussion, so the listener can enjoy the original in the Club and in the Gym etc…

I especially love this one, tell us about the music you love: favourite song ever, singer and Dj ?

Ha….tough question i love all kinds of music from Motown/Soul RnB right through to House/Techno/Hardcore and everything in between. One of my favourite tracks ever has to be….. Giorgio Moroder & Philip Oakey – Together In Electric Dreams, favourite Vocalist Phill Collins, and favourite Band The Lighthouse Family Both inspiring/unique artists as for favourite DJ…it’s a flip between Frankie Knuckles and Paul Oakenfold.

You seem to be a “Synth” lover, so let’s talk about your secret weapons: What are your favourite DAW, plug-ins, and of course synths ?

Here comes the classified information haha:

I use the trusted Virus Ti and a lot of softs like Nexus, Hypersonic 2 (old but gold) Mini Moog, Arp2600 i use quite a few. My DAW is Cubase.

If you were coming to play in Paris, which track would you choose to burn the dancefloor ?

If im booked for a big gig i always try to make a brand new remix for that particular gig so i suppose a remix of a cassius track or early Bob Sinclar track would work well.

Rising Star : Eric Solomon

We met on Twitter…

I heard about his famous MTV show called “Youth Electric” and he made me discover his refreshing “Funky-Electro-Soul” music, from Vancouver.

If you don’t know him yet, you have to… why ?  2 reasons :

1/ Because Eric Solomon may become a Pop Star very soon, thanks to his single A.L.L, which is getting picked up by radios all over Canada, and that already sounds like a international smash hit. Itunes Buy link.

2/ Because I just remixed “If it all burns down” from the LP Antartica, which is awesome, and can burn any dancefloor !!!

You like it ? So say it !!!
